Deeping Blues 3 - 0 Thurlby Tigers

Written by Stuart Benson on .

This was always going to be a tough game against a good side on a small pitch which is also on a slope, but this impressive Deeping side started very sharply with the midfield 3 of Ryan Olbromski, Connor Bell & Dan Malcomson dominating proceedings. Connor was pushing forward and linking well with Harry Tidswell and both were soon on the scoresheet as Deeping raced into a 2-0 lead.

Charlie Stewart came on mid way through the first half and linked well with Connor on several occasions, before playing a delightful one two which finished with the ball in the top corner of the net after a stunning left foot drive from Connor.

Despite continuing to dominate the game, the Blues could not find the net again and wasted several good opportunites to increase the lead.  That being said, Deeping were in total control at the back with Charlie Titcombe, Toby Clegg and Ethan Russell having rock solid games, leaving Will Rodriguez pretty much untroubled in goal.

Oscar Benson and Sam Callcut came on and half time and both were unlucky not to score when they had shots blocked.  Manager Stuart Benson  was very pleased with the way his team played on a ground where many teams will lose points this season.

Connor Bell won man of the match for his first half display, but the whole team stood out with no weak links.

Scorers; Bell (2) Tidswell
