Deeping St James United Charities have awarded a grant to Deeping Rangers Football Club towards the purchase of new 9 v 9 goalposts.
The grant will mean that children at Deeping Rangers will now be able to play matches with goalposts that are relative to their age and size.
The grant has provided funding towards the installation of goalposts that supports the implementation of The FA’s Youth Development Review. The new 9v9, 7v7 and 5v5 formats – played on smaller pitches with smaller goals – aim to develop more technically-gifted English players. Extensive research has shown that the game is more enjoyable for youngsters as they receive more touches of the ball and the game is less likely to be dominated by larger, more physical players.

The Charities can make grants to any body in need of funds for the service of any part of the community in Deeping St James. Any club, society or association which needs funds for any sort of community project or service is welcome to apply.
