Just a reminder that despite being the away team in the draw, this match will be played at Deeping Rangers FC this coming Saturday with a 3pm kick off time.
Thank you.
Our regular match preview duo of Arun and Jack look ahead to this one for us.
After advancing in the FA Vase, we look forward to our next cup fixture being a League Cup competition in which we will host Coventry United on the 7th at The Haydon Whitham Stadium.
Our previous cup fixture came away in the FA Vase in which a gripping 1-1 draw resulted in a penalty shootout to which we beat the hosts Clifton All Whites 1-4.
Our 3 fixtures since, however, have not gone to plan as all resulted in losses including the derby against Bourne Town in which the visitors found themselves 0-2 up at the break and despite our best efforts we could only thaw out a constellation against the Wakes leaving them with a 1-2 win.
Despite this the visitors haven’t had a great start to the season either only winning 1 and drawing 1 in their first 9 fixtures of whom also sit in 17th place in a league of 19.
The men for the Rangers backline to look out for will be Dylan William Parker of whom has scored in consecutive fixtures for Coventry, as well as Scott Hammond who has scored 2 in his last 3. However, Hemagou of whom is leading Coventry in terms of goals this season (3) has been absent from their previous 2 fixtures.
Coventry have not been too long-gone from cup glory as they won the Presidents Cup in the 2014/15 season in which was the same season they had won their league making it a double. During the 2013-2016 period Coventry were unarguably at their best winning 3 back-to-back promotions and winning 2 leagues while doing so (2014/15 & 2015/16)while winning the aforementioned Presidents Cup (2014/15) and coming runners up in the Birmingham FA Challenge Vase (2013/14).
