"It's going to be tough with them in the play off places" so says new Deeping Manager Brett Whaley as he looked forward to this Wednesday night derby.

Melton have had a great start to the season, 10 points away from the top of the league and Lincoln United but with 3 games in hand.

They sit in and around the play offs and will be looking to keep building from a decent 2023/2024 campaign.

The self proclaimed pork pie army (and there are shops in Deeping who would argue that should be our nickname!) are unbeaten in the league but... there is hope.

They have played twice at home but despite a win have dropped points with a draw at their ground on the Oakham Road.

Deeping secured a clean sheet in the home draw with Ashby Ivanhoe at the weekend and now need to add goals. Josh Moreman has 4 and Johnny Lockie 3 with the rest of the scorers on a single goal.

That will need to change if we are to get more points and up the table.
