A frustrating afternoon in the grips of storm Darragh saw Deeping blown away in the opening 20 minutes by Belper United.
Manager Brett Whaley had talked after the last game about the need to take on and beat one of the leagues top teams to show the progress of his squad.
Early goals did for that plan with the home side two up before the game was barely a quarter old, and it was a mountain that a side down the bottom of the table, looking to build some confidence was always going to struggle to climb.
The home side added a third in the second half with observers at the game saying a three goal margin was probably a bit too great a margin on reflection of the game.
Deeping now need to raise themselves for a massive local derby with Melton Town this midweek.
The build up to that and another home game on Saturday will start tomorrow on this website.
