Deeping Rangers U18s hosted Eastwood CFC U18s on Thursday night in the FA youth cup.
Eastwood started well in the 9th minute a great ball across the box and smashed into the middle of the net to give the visitors the lead. Eastwood pushed to increase that lead in the first half but Deeping stood strong.
Half time: Deeping 0-1 Eastwood
The first 20 minutes of the 2nd half were relatively quiet. In the 60th minute a strong tackle from a Eastwood player on a Deeping winger sparked a large brawl between the 2 teams which resulted in a red card for Deeping and a couple of yellows for Eastwood.
With Deeping down to 10 men Eastwood took full control of the game and within 2 minutes they doubled the lead after a mix up in the Deeping defence.
Eastwoods third came after a good shot just outside the box came off the underside of the bar and bounced over the line which the referee and linesman both agreed it did. Another mix up in the defence lead to Eastwoods 4th before a good run down the wing and a good finish at the near post gave Eastwood there 5th and final goal.
Full time: Deeping 0-5 Eastwood
Deeping head to Holbeach United next week (12th September) before returning home to host Godmanchester (19th September)
